Edwin A. Schuh, of Antigo, died Monday, May 25, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 83 years old. He was born on May 2, 1932 in Elcho, a son of Raymond and Viola (Dunn) Schuh. He married Arlene Hommerding on September 5, 1953 in Elcho. She survives.

He was a graduate of Elcho High School with the class of 1950.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was stationed at the Headquarters for Allied Land Forces of Eastern Europe in Izmir, Turkey.

Following military service he returned to Antigo where he worked at Antigo Baker Canning Company for 39 years as a warehouse supervisor and plant manager. When the canning company in Antigo closed, he transferred to the Friday Canning Company in Coleman.

He was a member and past Commander of the Noetzelman-Boodry American Legion Post #377 in Elcho. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Antigo where he belonged to the Men's Brotherhood, served as a Deacon and as treasurer of the Memorial Committee.

He enjoyed fishing, cross country skiing, gardening, deer hunting and partridge hunting.

Survivors including his wife are a daughter, Danelle (Roy) Philippi, Suring; two sons, David (Donna) Schuh, Wausau, Dennis (Margaret) Schuh, Antigo; five grandchildren Denise (Aaron) Lee, Theresa, Anthony and Julia Schuh, John Philippi; a brother-in-law, Bernard Andraschko, Antigo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight sisters Delores (Fred) Delarme, Beverly (Pat) Moliter, Judy Andraschko, Vivian (Henry) Hessil, Geraldine (Vilas) Tappa, Marcella (Owen) Jewell, Ethel (Leo) Hackzynski and her first husband Vince Kurten, Mary Schuh; two brothers Raymond Schuh and Shirley "Shirk" (Mary) Schuh.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Faith United Church of Christ in Antigo with Rev. Wes Jedras officiating. Committal services will follow in the Elcho Cemetery where the Elcho American Legion Post will conduct military rites. Visitation will be Saturday from 3 - 6 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Faith United Church of Christ in Ed's name.

Uncle Eddie and Aunt Arlene and the family were the family that everyone wishes to have. He will be greatly missed by not only the family but all who knew him. Rest in peace Uncle Eddie.
