Don gave me my first job at his Texaco Station in Phlox in 1956-57 during my senior year at Antigo High School. I was forever grateful for his confidence in me. He was an avid fisherman then and enjoyed a life-long hobby fishing. I still have fond memories of those early work days and really appreciated Don's supportive management style.

Don was a great man. As I have thought about him the past couple of days his laugh kept coming into my memory, it was one of a kind.

I worked with Don at Amron for several years. Don was a class act and a great guy to work with. My deepest sympathy to his family for your loss.

Dad, and some of his friends had an adventure in the late 1960s. They took snowmobiles and went from Phlox to Canada. Snowmobiles were not as fast then, and there wasn't a coordinated trail system either. And, this was long before instant communication with cell phones. It trip was covered by area TV and other media.
