My deepest sympathy to Mr. Priquette's family. He was an inspiration to his students. He brought the world to our little class in Mattoon with all of the interesting projects. Hawaii, the watusi and many, many fun times. Along with Mrs. Malchow he was my favorite teacher. God bless you Mr. Priquette!

When I was very young, Ron and Larry and I were taking the garbage to the "back 40". All of a sudden Larry said, "there's a bear". They both took my hands and my feet never touched the ground all the way back to the house.

I have great memories of Mr. Priquette as my 5th grade teacher in Mattoon. He always made learning fun and interesting, along with being such a caring person. He will also be remembered for his signature pineapple upside cake, so good!
God Bless.

"Mr. Priquette" was a great teacher. I will always have fond memories of the years at Mattoon Elementary and listening to him and my dad singing in the Antigo Barbershop Quartette Choir. He will always be remembered.

Mr. Prickette was my 5th grade teacher, and one of my favorites of all time, at Mattoon Elementary in 1962-3. He used to bring his wonderful mother in to play the piano and teach us classic songs like "Daisy, Daisy". I'll never hear that song without thinking of him. He taught me the value of quality work. I remember him complimenting me on my penmanship, and I've been careful about it ever since. He was also the first teacher to demonstrate the ubiquitous volcano (potassium chloride?). And he taught us a wonderful unit on Hawaii, with a luau in class. Thank you, Mr. Prickette. You'll never know how influential you were. By the way, I have been a teacher, in many capacities, ever since!
