When I think of my Uncle Lester, I remember years ago at a Quist family reunion. We were playing softball & there was a friendly argument about whether a ball was fair or foul; Uncle Lester yelled, "You're all foul!". We all broke out laughing and that pretty much ended the disagreement. Diana Quist Guthman, daughter of Donald L. Quist, Lester's brother

My deepest sympathy to the Quist Family. I had the privilege of working with Lester at Filbrandts years ago and knew him as a very kind man and friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I WISH THE QUIST FAMILY THE VERY BEST IN YOUR LIVES AHEAD. I USED TO "KIND OF BE IN YOUR FAMILY" AS I WAS SISTER IN LAW TO YOUR BELOVED DON. AND I REALLY HAD A BIG CRUSH ON LESTER THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL. I THINK OF ALL OF YOU OFTEN. I AM IN ALABAMA FOR THE WINTER OR I WOULD TRY TO COME TO THE SERVICES. MY LOVE AND BEST WISHES TO ALL OF YOU.

When I lived in Milburn around 1956, I fell off my sisters' tricycle onto a pipe sticking out of the ground. I had a big gash in my forehead requiring stitches. Uncle Les was living with us at the time and I remember him and my Dad rushing me to the hospital in an old Chevy with me holding a pair of his underwear filled with ice on my forehead. A few years later I rode in that same car with him and there was a large rabbit cage strapped to the roof. We were heading to the farm in White Lake with a steady stream of rabbit fur flying off the cage. In the late 60's-early 70's Lester and Marylyn lived in a house on Rt. 45 and Grand Avenue near Gurnee, IL. The Fog-cutter tavern was just to the south, and Les and Marylyn were there one night with Steve Terry when I stopped in for a visit. I was having an animated conversation with Lester but something seemed a little off. When he took a washroom break, both Marylyn and Steve looked at me and said "that's the first words we heard from his mouth in over two weeks!" He could be a very stubborn man. Although I didn't see him much in later years, I will always have fond memories of him while growing up.

My heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to all of his loved ones.

How Appropriate. For Les to have His service on St. Patricks Day. When He visited us, We would always have corned beef. He would threaten Me if I wanted to remove the Fat. His Brother, My Husband RED, would agree, So they would FEAST, FAT & ALL. We also Loved to hear him sing. He could sound just like Hank Williams. Our Family Loved Him Very Much. GOD BLESS !! Jan Quist
