Daniel Murray, 75, died Thursday, November 28th, 2013 in Antigo. He was born January 26, 1938 in Necedah, to Rev. Charles and Mary (Daniels) Murray. He grew up in Antigo where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Janice Anderson on July 27, 1957. She survives.
A brick mason by trade, Mr. Murray was employed in Ohio from 1960 to 1970 first by Jim Parks Masonry then becoming self employed. In 1970 he returned to Antigo and continued his mason work until 1987. His decorative brick and stone work was unique and he was known for the beautiful fireplaces he built. In the 1960's his work was displayed in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.
In 1987 Mr. Murray started working in the maintenance and custodial department for the Antigo Unified School District at the High School and then East Elementary School until his retirement in 2002.
Mr. Murray was an active member of the Antigo United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for many years and served on the board of Trustees.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, his children, Mike (Shannon) Murray of Rhinelander, Patti (Harry) Clifford of Pace, FL, Peter (Carla) Murray of Plainfield, and Matt Murray and special friend Sarah Stoecker of Milwaukee; nine grandchildren Brian Murray and fiancee Dana Reynolds, Erich (Katie) Bacher, Lindsay (Andrew Dale) Bacher and Kari Bacher and special friend Travis Olsen, Althea, Grace and Ethan Murray, Elizabeth Clifford, and Josh Clifford; two great-grandchildren Taylan Murray and Mason Bacher; a sister, Iris (Rev. Willis) Cook, Glasgow, MT; a brother Jim (Lolita) Murray, Kankakee, IL; numerous nieces and nephews along with his wife's family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Sam and Tom Murray and a sister Sylvia Murray.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Antigo United Methodist Church with Rev. Debbie Pimm officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 - 6 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Dan Murray was one of the most honorable men you could find. He loved God and raised his children to believe. He came from a strong family of Christians, and stayed true to his morals and values his whole life. He was honest and you knew where you stood with him. He will be missed dearly here on earth, but his children will carry on and teach their children. So Dan Murray made his mark in life and will be remembered with love and respect. We are blessed to be a part of that great family. Love you very much Dan!
