Marilouise "Weezie" Filbrandt, of Antigo, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 surrounded by family, at Evergreen Terrace in Antigo. She was 89 years old. She was born on August 8, 1924 in Antigo, daughter of Carl and Esther (Kupper) Walk. She married John Filbrandt on May 1, 1946 at St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2005.
She attended Antigo High School and graduated from Holy Cross High School in Merrill.
As a young lady Mrs. Filbrandt was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Company factory, the Emmaline Shop and Gunkels Bakery. She was a homemaker most of her life enjoying decorating, cooking, baking, flower gardening, bird watching and volunteering in organizations associated with her children's activities.
She was an active member of SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church and their rosary society.
Survivors include a daughter Jeanne Filbrandt and her husband Made Sutama of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; two sons Jack (Rosie) Filbrandt, Antigo, Michael (Patricia) Filbrandt, Madison; eight grandchildren Jessica, Carissa, Ryan, Angela, Sean, Komang, Johna and Jack; six great grandchild Katelynn, Josie, Caden, Layne, Lucas, LiviaRose and one great-great grandchild Juda.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Friday also at the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
