Joan was my aunt. She and my Uncle Jim offered me a home growing up with them after the girls were over at our house and witnessed abuse towards me from my father, and told their parents. Most people will not get involved. Antigo became a not-so-happy place for memories for me and I stayed away. I will forever be grateful for this family and I wish I would have stayed in touch. Jillene I wish you could visit to see all our (rescued) cats!!!!!!

Jim and family, we are so sorry for your loss. You have our heartfelt sympathies. We always loved talking to Joan at Copps when she did the demos there. She was so genuine and had such a great smile. Our boys will always remember how kind she was to them at Copps too and we will miss seeing her at events for Zoe. She was an amazing lady and we know that many will miss her. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Joan for many of the years she worked at Eastview. She always had a smile and was friendly to all. She will certainly be missed by many.

My sympathies Judi and family. I always enjoyed talking to her at the hockey rink back in the day. My prayers are with you.

Every once in a while I travel down North Hogan St. just to remember the "good times" starting at Roehrig's house and ending with Mrs. Kapusta's. I remember Joan walking down to Carol's house and vice versa, our house was right in the middle of them. Joan was always smiling :) A little piece of my childhood passed on with Joan.

Jimmy, Judi and Jillene, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She sure endured a lot in one life yet she remained positive and strong. I know she brought joy to my mom. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. How does life go so fast? Wasn't it just yesterday we were all riding bikes from house to house in our neighborhood.

God be with you all. Joan bowled with us and she was a faithful customer at the Trio for many years. She was a fun lady.

I sure do remember when your mom would come to bingo at the kc hall. Always such a sweet lady who will be missed by so many! My thoughts and prayers to all of you

So sorry to hear you lost your mom. Joan was a neat lady, and was such a good friend to Grandma Smith. I remember being at your house with her often when they visited. I know she is missed! My prayers are with you.

I will always have fond memories of "Grandma Twinkie". I am not sure how she felt about being called "Grandma Twinkie " from someone whom she was not grandma too but she always waved and answered to it when I called her that. Thinking and praying for the Kapusta family in this time of sadness- may she rest in peace.
