Carol Jean Falk, of Antigo, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Care Partners under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 81 years old. She was born on March 16, 1932 in Antigo, a daughter of Irvin and Agnes (Resch) Gallenberg. She married John "Ozzie" Falk on August 12, 1950 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2007.
She attended St. John Grade School and graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1950.
Mrs. Falk was a waitress at Tesch's Supper Club in Antigo for five years. She was also employed at Copp's in the domestic department and at Louie's Red Owl in the meat department.
She enjoyed operating Falk's Shorewood Resort on Pelican Lake from 1984 to 1999.
Her hobbies included crafts, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, John (Sandy) Falk Jr., Carol "Suz" (Jim) Fronek, David Falk and Tom (Laurie) Falk all of Antigo; nine grandchildren, John "Bud" (Jamie) Falk III and Jeff (Tracy) Falk both of Antigo, Joseph Fronek of Antigo, Heidi (Brad) Wunderlich of Neenah, Scott Fronek of Van Nuys, CA, Tony (Jessie) Fronek of Oshkosh, Kristie (fiance Mike Tiedemann) Falk of Antigo, Nikki (Special Friend Adam Just) Falk of Spicer, MN and Kaitlyn Falk of Antigo; seven great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Zach Falk, Collin and Cade Tiedemann, Kennadie Fronek, Morrison and Dylan Falk; two sisters, Bonnie (Ken Jr.) Ourada of Antigo and Donna Juetten of Birchwood; a brother-in-law, Lee (Dale) Falk of St. Charles, IL; two sister-in-law, Beverly Reed of Combined Locks and Jeanine Listle of Brown Deer.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Falk; sister, Mary Lawyer; brother, Irvin Gallenberg; and three brothers-in-law, Pete Juetten, Larry Lawyer and Bill Falk.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 - 9:30 am on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
