My family and I are deeply saddened for your loss. We hope you find comfort through family, friends and the words that we write to you. I was one of his NCO's and a Platoon Sergeant in Okinawa. He was a good friend and a good Marine. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and his brothers. One day when it is our time we will see him again for Marines are said to guard the gates of heaven always alert and always on duty. It was an honor and a privilege to have served along side of Zack. I didn't know Zack very well but one day he talked to me when I was having a hard time n that's what I remember about him. He was the kindest person to someone he barely knew n wanted to help even though it wasn't his problem at all. I loved watching him & the stallion team play baseball. I'm deeply sorry for his family's loss.

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

CandleZack, you were a great person. We had a few classes together, and I remember you talking about wanting to join the Marines, thats so awesome you were able to achieve it. It was an honor to know you Zack, Rest In Peace

Zack and I worked together in Oklahoma, Okinawa, and also in Lejeune. He was a great friend and truly loved his wife and daughter. It was great to see a guy my age who cared so much for his family. After he got out of the Marines he was so excited about what his next step in life was going to be. I talked to him on and off. I got the feeling that after he was out of the Marines he was really enjoying life being closer to family and with the work he was doing. I'll never forget the wild friend and great father he was.

I remember Zack from hockey. He was so fun to watch skate. He worked so hard at whatever he was asked to do. He was a great young man and will miss his smile and red hair.

P Patti Rylander on Sep 18, 2013

I remember all the confusing paperwork Zack had to fill out when he started here at Weatherford. He was missing his second form of ID and he had his mom email it to me. I remember emailing her back thanking her for sharing Zack with us here at Weatherford. I still feel the same. He was such a sweet person and he must have had an awesome family supporting him. I know I will miss his sweet smile and quiet humor. I thank you again for sharing him with me and all of us at Weatherford. My deepest condolences to all of you.

Zack and I took a science class together in high school, for our final project we made a hunting movie up in the hills. It was dumping snow and one of the nicest bucks I've seen comes running right at us, needless to say, zack missed and to top off the night we almost got stuck out there in the snowstorm.
That was one of the first times we ever hung out. I can't believe he's gone... Zack bud, your missed by an amazing family and the best of friends.

He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. All our prayers and love being sent from my family to yours.

Charlie, Pam and Ash...so sorry. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. And Zach...from the first time we met at the game in Wolf River, became foes on the diamond, then teammates, then friends. The original Stallions team to Fon du Lac, Eau Claire and all across Wisconsin to the lake after the first Siren tourney. Man, the years and the memories. Semper Fi brother. We will never forget you. Rich, Olivia, Ricardo and Leah.

Zack hunted on my property while he was going to school in Sun Prairie and we had a chance to get to know each other. For such a young man he had an old soul, knew responsibility and accepted it, strove for higher ground and achieved it. I choose to celebrate his life ; I will see his radiant smile in the early morning sun, I will hear his whisper in the gentle breeze , and when I walk my fields I will see him in the deer that amble by, or the eagle flying in the sky...

I will never forget when Zack walked into my Uncle Ray's funeral in his dress blues last year. I burst into tears because he looked so much like his grandpa. Marines are always the first to land in a major campaign, so I know Uncle Ray is there to pave the way for Zack. Sending love and support to my family in their time of grief.

Our family was lucky enough to meet Zach through Stallions baseball. It is amazing how a little white ball can bond people together and make friends (family) for life. I have so many memories of Zach. I love that at such a young age when most teenagers are most concerned about hanging out with their friends that he knew then it was family that mattered most. I loved his grin and how he wasn't afraid to be himself. He loved his plaid shirts and cowboy boots, jeans and truck. He loved baseball and always gave it his all. I will never forget "Scrubbiong Bubbles" and a few choice words he had for a batter that the umpire even came up to Coach Mike and said "that's the best thing I've ever heard!"(referring to the batter's mom and it shook the batter up so much it got the batter out).
So proud of him for serving our country as a Marine.
Zach will be missed in so many ways by so many people!

CandleI remember when I came for a visit with his grandma and Zack had just gotten his license or permit. Grandma and I wanted to go to the scrapbooking store and Zack was more then willing to take us so he could drive and it usually included a breakfast or lunch. R.I.P Zack. You will be missed by all who knew you and loved you. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Love Aunt Joyce
