Did a lot of things with Wally when I was a teenager. Went fishing, worked on cars, picnics, etc. I remember clearly as if it happened yesterday an accident we had in Wally's '54 Mercury. Luckily for us that car was built like a tank or I may not have been here to write this. The telephone pole we hit struck right in front of my door, (passenger), the car spun around and rolled over, again luckily it was a tank.
Still can see the windshield buckling as we rolled over. We walked away without any harm to speak of. Wally nearly drowned after falling in to Lake Michigan off the Government Pier while we were perch fishing, as we did a lot back then. Pulled Wally out with a Life Preserver on a rope and only good luck that he could grab it. The Lake was pretty rough that day. Used to catch so many perch we had to stop fishing because we couldn't carry any more. Lot's more to say but you don't have all day to read this, so.....

We met Mr. Wally a few years ago and immediately took a liking to him and Ms. Gale. We have shared many a smile and laughs. Mr. Wally will be greatly missed.

Uncle Wally, at the Madison Rhythm & Booms fireworks show. This was an event he thoroughly enjoyed, and never missed. He loved fireworks and being with his family. Uncle Wally, I will think of you every time I see a firework, (or an F-16 flying over our heads!) I'll forever check every stick brought to me to toast a marshmallow with thanks to you, too! I never was quite sure if you "meant" to give us pine branches, or if it was truly an accident. FYI: pine and marshmallows don't mix well!

My favorite memory of my grandfather was being able to just see him and smile. My grandfather was a great man, and he never failed to leave a smile on my face after I left. I will never ever forget my grandpa. I will love him for the amazing man that he was. I love you grandpa
