Gladys Koszarek, of the town of Antigo, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 92 years old. She was born on December 24, 1920 in Phlox, a daughter of Albert and Rose (DeBroux) Menting. She married Cashmere Koszarek on September 25, 1940 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phlox. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1994.
She was employed at Langlade Memorial Hospital as a nurses aide for 35 years retiring in 1989.
Mrs. Koszarek was a member of SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church, its Rosary Society and Christian Concerns group. She served the church as lector and lay communion minister.
She was a volunteer for the Community Association of Retirees and the Langlade County Committee on Aging.
Survivors include seven daughters Margie (Dewain) Reimer, Antigo, Ann (Donald) Walters, Antigo, Carol Hauch, Antigo, Lois (Gene) Gordy, Antigo, Pat (James) Spencer, Antigo, Mary Koszarek, Antigo, Becky (Bill) Spencer, Deerbrook; two sons Richard Koszarek and special friend Cindy, Wausau, Kevin (Laurie) Koszarek, Spartanburg, South Carolina;
20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren;
two sisters Sr. Mary Rose Menting, Appleton, Stella Cornelius, Post Lake; a brother Lester Menting, Antigo.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sons Daniel and Randy Koszarek; two grandchildren Michael and Kenneth Walters; a great-grandchild Jasper Fleischman; a son-in-law, Dennis Hauch;
three sisters Josetta Waltich, Germaine Franzen, and Verna Rine; six brothers Vincent "Bud", Wilbert, Leonard, Sylvester, Roland and Marvin Menting.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9 - 10 a.m. on Wednesday also at the funeral home.
A parish wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and the rosary society wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday all at the funeral home.

Going to Great Grandma's house on Christmas Eve to celebrate her birthday and Christmas was the fondest memory I remember. All of her kids, grandkids, and great grand kids came it was relly fun to talk to people you haven't seen in a long time. I miss you Great Grandma
Gladys was such a wonderful lady. I am very proud to have known her.
Gladys was a very special person. I never heard her say a bad thing about anyone. She will be missed. The family has our sympathies for their loss.
