Arlyne Marie "Penny" Oatman, of White Lake, passed on peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. She was 95 years old. She was born on April 2, 1921, in Stratford, a daughter of the late Howard and Anna (Gall) Wilcott. She married Chester "Chet" Oatman on July 9, 1949, at St. James Catholic Church in White Lake. He survives.

Penny was a graduate of Marathon High School, Class of 1939. She moved to White Lake in 1941, Milwaukee in 1942, and in 1943 became employed at Marathon Electric in Wausau. She returned to White Lake in 1947 and was employed at Yawkey-Bissell. She resided in Racine from 1962 to 1968, returning to White Lake. In April of 2016, she moved to Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill with her husband.

Penny loved caring for her family, cooking, reading, dancing with her sister, listening to music, and enjoying the great outdoors. Foremost is her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in Whose presence she will eternally dwell.

In addition to her beloved husband of 67 years, survivors include sons, Christopher Oatman of White Lake and Keith (Mary Lavoie) Oatman of St. Augustine, FL; a daughter, Kim (Brian) Joseph of Antigo; six grandchildren, Scott (Jessie) Oatman of Eagle River, Sarah (Lenny) Orlowski of Greenfield, Stacy Oatman of Milwaukee, Anna Frommberger-Oatman of Germany, Adam (Jessie) Joseph of Pittsburgh, PA and Stephanie (Christopher) Gravitter of Antigo; and her dear sister, Dolores Stanke of Antigo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including Beulah Oatman of White Lake.

She was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Allen Charles Wilcott.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Four Corners Assembly of God, White Lake, with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in St. James Cemetery in White Lake. A visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Kim and Brian, It always amazed me that such a big heart fit in such a tiny lady! Your mom was so loving and full of kind words! She always reflected the Lord where ever I saw her. She always smiled, even in hard situations. Her compassion was felt by so many. My life has been blessed because of her, and you!

Chet and Penny were very kind to me growing up. I fished from their dock and pontoon boat on the backside of White Lake some 30 plus years ago. I still share fishing stories with my family. On some hot days they would bring me a drink and a cookie. One year for Christmas Chet made a bank out of wood for me. It is in the shape of a football helmet and had a player's face. I still have the bank. Very kind people. My condolences to Chet and family.

Very respectfully,
Eric DeHart
