Lee G. Walcheske age 64 died peacefully with his family at his bedside on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Diane (nee Drewek) of 39 years, loving father of Matthew (Maria Lyle) and James (Erin Bong), dearest grandpa of Jameson and Remi.
Lee was born in Milwaukee to Alfred and the late Mae (nee Junck) Walcheske. He graduated from Bay View High School in 1968 and was a 1973 graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee earning a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
He was a dedicated employee of the City of Milwaukee for 36 years retiring as a Water Distribution Supervisor.
Lee enjoyed being "up north" every weekend since childhood and in 2008 accomplished his dream of living year-round on the lake. He had a variety of interests that included family time, working on projects around the home, gardening, fishing, boating, watching sports and listening to music.
Lee had a strong faith that never wavered while living with cancer for 12 years. He was truly grateful for all the prayers and support of family and friends. He appreciated the expert medical care of Milwaukee and Antigo physicians and staff as well as the compassionate comfort care provided by Le Royer Hospice.
Lee will be deeply missed by his wife, Diane of Crooked Lake; sons, Matthew (Maria Lyle) of Chicago and James (Erin) of Wauwatosa; two grandchildren, Jameson and Remi; father, Alfred and sister, Ellen Walcheske both of Palm Harbor, FL. He is also survived by his wife's family, Kathleen Pistell, Mary Graham, Kristine (Dan) Costello, Allene Bychinski, Cindy (Mark) Naumann, Brian (Sandy) Drewek and Gary (Pam) Drewek; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's of the Lake, Lakewood with Reverend Joseph Nsereko and the Most Reverend Monsignor Dennis Lyle officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Lee may be sent to Le Royer Hospice 112 East Fifth Ave, Antigo WI 54409 or to the charity of your choice.

CandleDiane, I am so sorry to hear about Lee. It has been a long time since he first became ill when we worked together at Student Health. I often wondered how the two of you were doing. Please know that you and the boys are in my thoughts and prayers.

Diane, Matt and James we are so sorry for your loss. Lee was a wonderful person. He had such a great sense of humor and we are very happy that we got to know him when our sons Matt and Jeremy were growing up. May he rest in peace.
