A dedicated teacher, inquisitive world traveler, avid bowler, and collector of frogs; these are some of my favorite memories of Carolyn. It was a pleasure to teach with Miss Hitz at Merrill Junior High and on Blue Team at Prairie River Middle School. She touched the lives of many students.

Carolyn had a strong presence in the merrill bowling community at our lincoln lanes for ell over 25 years. She always had a smile on her face and was a committed member of her team and league holding the office of president for many years. We will miss you.

My first date with Carolyn was going to fair in 1965. After about 20 minutes, we stopped at the "dairy bar" and the container for her choc. milk leaked onto her white shirt Had to take her home to change. Even though out engagement ended 5 years later, she will always be a special person in my life.

Mike and I were responsible for several of Carolyn's frogs in her collection. Our daughter Becca also bought her a frog but it took a while to get to her. It went to several other states while attending college. She did finally get it to her. Mike said it would probably take a year to get a thank you not - she received it within six months... We will miss you Carolyn.

When I think of Carolyn, I think of frogs and purple, and I smile. Who else but Carolyn would request to have her classroom painted purple?! We had so many connections in our lives between Antigo, Merrill Junior High, I knew Herman and his kids, and she knew my family. She was a wonderful person and I will miss her warm spirit and smile.

I taught with Carolyn and was her assistant forensics coach for several years. After her retirement, she was always eager to help judge our local forensics meets. She was truly a caring person and will be forever missed.

I will always remember our many trips to state bowling and Carolyn worrying about her hair. It always made us all chuckle. Many fun times were had in those trips. I cherish those memories. We will miss you Carolyn!
