Floyd E. "Skip" Powell, Jr. of Antigo, died on September 14, 2024 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. He was 79 years old. He was born on April 10, 1945 in Antigo, a son of the late Floyd and Margaret (Clark) Powell.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1964. Floyd dedicated many years employed at Amron, having retired in 2010.
He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In his early years, Floyd enjoyed time with his brothers and sisters at the family cabin in Langlade. In his later years, he took pride in his cabin he built with his brothers and son, Floyd.
Survivors include four daughters, Paula Powell of Cecil, Traci (Mark) Lavine of Colgate, Jayne (Steve) Carroll of Florida, and Tammy (Todd) Bricko of Polar; two sons, Floyd (Bridgette) Powell, III of Antigo and Greg Powell of Phoenix, AZ; special friend, Ruthie Perry, whom he graduated high school with; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Cindy (Neal) Martin of Deerbrook, Maydene (Gerald) McDougal of Deerbrook, and Glenda (Jim) Yonke of Merrill; two foster sisters, Debbie Witman of Pickerel and Ann (Sam) Bort of Racine; four brothers, Richard (Sharon) Powell of Livingston, KY, Roy (Cindy) Powell of Antigo, Loren (Marian) Powell of Antigo, and Dan (Phil) Evans of Australia; brother-in-law, Don Teal of Antigo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Strube and Mary Teal; a brother, Thomas Powell; and a brother-in-law, Gary Strube.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 18, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Pearson Cemetery.
