Warren G. Barkey, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on December 24, 2022. He was born on December 30, 1987 in Ripon, to David and Dianne (Lewis) Barkey.
He attended Winneconne High School and graduated from Nicolet Technical College with an associate degree for welding. Warren was very proud of meeting Governor Walker during a tour at NTC's welding program. He showed him how to weld and appeared in a commercial for it.
Warren was a brave man and lived his life on the edge. He worked on wind turbines, often sending his mother videos of him at the top not holding on to anything. His hobbies included anything mechanical, racing, boating, and snowmobiling. His passion was anything with a motor.
Survivors include his parents, Dianne Barkey of Wisconsin Rapids and David Barkey of Winneconne; a sister, Tiffany Seavecki (Drew Gietman) of Nekoosa; a brother, Brent (Shanna) Hanson of Spring Valley, MN; nine nieces and nephews, Jazmyne Ness, Wyatt Seavecki, Stella Seavecki, Brian Hanson, Dalton Hanson, Ethan Schleusner, Clayton Hanson, Ayden Schleusner, and Madison Hanson; maternal grandparents, Darrell and Flo Lewis of Argonne; an aunt, Darina (Bob) Dahms of Almond; an uncle, Brian Barkey of Hayward; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Warren and Margaret "Peggy" Barkey.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, Warren's 35 birthday, at 4 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in Bent Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
