Shirley Ann Muench, of Pelican Lake, died peacefully at home on Saturday, June 25, 2022, under the care of her family and Family Matters Senior Homecare Services. She was 86 years old, born on June 6, 1936, in Bevent, WI. Shirley was the oldest daughter of Leo and Emma (Kanwinski) Schuttenberg. She married Aloysius Muench on March 9, 1957.
For most of her life, Shirley was a homemaker. She loved baking, picking blackberries with her husband, and canning everything she was offered in season. Shirley loved living at Pelican Lake especially her gardens, the view of the lake, and birds at the feeders outside the window.
Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Wausau High School. She was employed at W.A Krueger in New Berlin. Al and Shirley moved to Pelican Lake in 1990.
Survivors include her husband, Aloysius; two daughters, Karen Perlewitz of Waukesha and Kathy Muench of West Allis; seven grandchildren, Mark Perlewitz Jr., Michael Perlewitz and Jenny (Ryan) McQuillan, Alan Muench and Andy Muench, Katie Muench, Julia Muench; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Yvonne Siewert of Wausau and Geraldine (Alan) Wieland of Wausau. Shirley was preceded in death by her sons, Alan and Jeffrey Muench.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
