Marjorie E. Heckmann-Hutchins, of Chicago, died Monday, December 20, 2021, at Rainbow Hospice. She was 99 years old. She was born on March 18, 1922, in Mattoon, Wis a daughter of Chester and Ida (Watrous) Hutchins. She left Wisconsin at the age of 17 and went to work at Marshall Fields in Chicago where she remained for over 40 years, finishing up at Macys after they bought Marshall Fields.
She would occasionally return to Mattoon for a short vacation.
Survivors include a nephew, Richard (Shirley) Hutchins; and two nieces, Patricia (Ron) Beck and Elizabeth (Clayton) Smith.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Alice) Hutchins; her husband, Martin Heckmann; and a nephew, Allan Hutchins.
A graveside service will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Town of Hutchins on Tuesday, May 31 at 1 p.m.
