Roy Joseph St. Peter, Sr., age 93 of the Town of Freedom in Forest County, died Thursday, March 24, 2022, at his home. He was born on March 26, 1928, in the Town of Freedom a son of Anton and Violet (Dietzler) St. Peter.
Roy was a graduate of Wabeno High School, class of 1948. A Korean War veteran, he served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952.
Roy was employed at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee for 9 years. During this time, he built his own home in the Township of Freedom. In 1960, he returned to Freedom and worked for William W. Connors Logging and Lumber Company. Roy then worked for the Town of Freedom as a Road and Equipment Maintenance Man for 20 years. He retired in 1999 at the age of 70. Roy enjoyed welding, working with metal, and could fabricate anything under the sun. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Blavat, who he married on August 7, 1976, in Milwaukee; three sons, Roy (Nancy) St. Peter Jr. of Appleton, Jerald (Laurie) St. Peter of Monico, and William (Al Snyder) St. Peter of Rehoboth Beach, DE; daughter, Romelle (Rob) Zeratsky of Green Bay; three step-sons, Keith Beau Lac of Clermont, FL, John (Jan) Bolack of Pensacola, FL and Paul (Carrie) Bolack of Henderson, NV; two stepdaughters, Julie (Joel) Turino of Viroqua and Laurie (David) Sekutowski of Genesee; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Horst of Temple City, CA; two brothers, Glenn (Loretta) St. Peter of Alpha, MI and Ronald (Barbara) St. Peter of Carthage, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Susan Mallis and Gabriella Boivin; and a brother, Anthony St. Peter.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 30 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pickerel with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will also be on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral Mass.
Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date.
