Mary Blanche Seis, age 95, of Antigo, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at The Bay at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born on June 25, 1926, in DePere, Wisconsin, a daughter of John and Mary (Fiala) Matuszewski. Mary attended Mayflower School. Not speaking English when she started school, she learned it in first grade and taught her parents English from what she learned in school.
She worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory where she met her future husband, Harold (aka Hubba, Hubba) They were married on October 11, 1947. They lived in the town of Rolling farming with Harold's parents.
Mary was involved in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church Rosary Society for many years, the Antigo Senior Club, having served as President, and other activities.
She cooked for St. Hyacinth School lunch program, was employed at the Cutlass Hotel as a housekeeper before working as a quality control inspector at Amron for 20 years.
She enjoyed bowling, farming, knitting, crocheting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Zeidler of Ringle, Linda (Terry) Leffel of Antigo; son, Dennis (Lori) Seis of Antigo; seven grandchildren, Christopher Orgeman, Kerri Lyn Orgeman, Nathan (Ashly) Schmidt, TJ Zeidler, Mark Zeidler, Becki Zeidler, Melissa Seis; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Orgeman, Reese Zeidler, Zoe, and Holly Orgeman, Conway and Aspen Schmidt; and a sister, Rosemary (Edward) Wilcenski of Waukesha.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Seis, on September 27, 2016; an infant son, Robert Seis; son-in-law, John Zeidler; five brothers, Raymon, Joseph, Emil, Edward and John; and two sisters, Cecelia Starr and Helen Morrissey.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 10 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Reverend George Daniel officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 21 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home
A parish wake service will be held Friday at the funeral home at 5:30 p.m.
