Ray Guthrie, of Antigo, died Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was 56 years old. He was born on April 8, 1965, in Chicago, a son of the late J. D. and Rita (Mainczyk) Guthrie. He married Amy Lane on September 7, 2002, in Hobart, Indiana.
Ray moved to Antigo in 2014. He was a machinist, having been employed at Merit Gear and was currently employed at Waukesha Bearings.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Ray was very active in the recovery community, he loved fishing and being in the outdoors.
He was a coach and volunteer for his son's sporting activities.
He loved family and always put family first. His second love was music, he enjoyed bluegrass and the Grateful Dead.
Survivors include his wife, Amy; a son, Zach Guthrie; two brothers, Steven (Nadine) Guthrie of Lansing, Ill and James Guthrie of Lynwood, Ill; a sister, Ellena Kivo of Munster, Ind; his father and mother-in-law, Steven and Mona Lane of La Crosse, Ind; a brother-in-law, Matt (Libby) Lane of La Crosse, Ind; and a sister-in-law, Samantha (Travis) Kleca of Laporte, Ind. Ray is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Kohn officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, December 4 at the church from 9 to 11 a.m.
