Carol Roehrig, of Antigo, died Monday, August 16, 2021, at home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 87 years old. She was born on October 24, 1933, in Antigo, a daughter of Clinton and Marjorie (Fermanich) Bonnell. She married Harold Roehrig on August 30, 1958, at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2009.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School.
Following high school Carol worked at Olk's Drug Store in Antigo. After raising her family she held several jobs including working seasonally for her brother-in-law Jim Tatro on his potato farm, clerking at the grocery store in Pelican Lake, and clerking at K-Mart in Antigo.
Her greatest joy was caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew her as "GiGi", and was involved in their many activities. Her hobbies include bowling, crocheting.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane (Thomas) Joslin of Baldwin, Patricia Bump of New Glarus, Peggy (Dave) Kluwe of Polar; two sons, Daniel (Leigh) Roehrig of Antigo, Steve (Melissa) Roehrig of Antigo;
twelve grandchildren: Samantha (Travis) Hohensee, Rachelle and Timothy Miller, Elizabeth (Mike) Proft, Matthew Joslin and fiancée Ashley, and Michelle Joslin and fiancée Dustin, Paige, Faith, and Ethan Bump, Ella, Noah and Max Roehrig;
nine great-grandchildren: Jayce Boyd, Isabelle, Emma and Abigail Hohensee, Elyse, Evan and Lily Proft, Maci Joslin, Finley Roberts;
three sisters, Shirley Servi of Sturdavent, Midge (James) Tatro of Antigo, Linda Tatham of Elcho; three brothers, Ronald (Theresa) Bonnell of Fridley, Minnesota, John (Donnell) Bonnell of Antigo, Theodore (Carol) Bonnell of Conover; a sister-in-law, Rita Bonnell of Merrill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a sister, Patricia (Louis) Drake; five brothers, Richard (Jeanie), Joseph, Jerome, Thomas, and David Bonnell; two brothers-in-law, Fred Servi and Tom Tatham.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives in front of church from 10 to 10:25 a.m. A celebration of life will follow the Mass at Carol's home.
