Beverly Piper, of Antigo, died Monday, July 5, 2021, at home after a lengthy illness. She was 73 years old. She was born on December 26, 1947, in Mattoon, a daughter of George and Fern (Johnson) Close. She married Jerome Piper on April 6, 1968. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2008.
She was raised in Mattoon and was employed at the Mattoon Veneer Mill for many years. She also worked harvesting and grading potato's.
She was a devoted homemaker raising her family Antigo. She was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn (Bill) Dohm of Medford, Tina (Luke) Sikora of Antigo, Terri Piper of Antigo; three sons, Todd Piper, Jerry Piper, Tim Piper all of Antigo; seven grandchildren, Cari, Travis, Corey, Cody, Britney, Rhiley and Amanda; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene (Joseph) Zoern of Elcho, Phyllis Shumans, Leesburg, Florida, Janice (Richard) Marvin of Deerbrook.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Dale (Carol) Close; a brother-in-law, Bobby Shumans.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021, at 9 a.m. at the town of Polar Cemetery with Rev. Michael Spaude officiating.
