Plant a tree in memory of Iris

An environmentally friendly option

P Pat Jordan on May 16, 2021

I fondly remember Iris from when I was a child and visited her and her family in Pickerel. On one occasion she took me fishing in a rowboat and I caught a bull head, which freaked me out. So she helped me get the bull head off the hook and put the bait back on the hook for me because I was afraid of worms. She was a good auntie and a very special lady.

Deepest and fondest memories reside in my heart.

Iris lit up the room. Her smile and laugh were infectious. She was such a beautiful woman. When I grow up I hope to be even a little like her.

Her memory was impeccable to the end. It was because of her that I was able to construct a family tree with facts and details that were only identifiable and validated by her. She was a delight.

She was the mother of three phenomenal children. While growing up, some of my best experiences came from either visiting their home, or their visits to ours. Janell and I spent wonderful hours together in our own make-believe worlds.

I loved Iris so much. She carried the same genes as my mother and my grandmother. When I looked into her eyes, it was their eyes that I saw; a beautiful, sparkling green, deep with knowledge and wisdom.

I'll miss you, dear cousin. My love to those left behind.
