I just found out today that you had passed away in Aug! I was very shocked to find this out. You were the best teacher I ever had at Menasha High! Was so much fun with Ralphie and Prunella! 🤣 You sure made learning fun! Glad we kept in touch all these years! I will miss you! Rest In Peace Matt!
I was saddened to learn that my friend of more than half a century, Neil Kurtz, died at the end of August. We hadn't seen much of each other for the last few decades because we lived up to a thousand miles apart at times, but I have fond memories of the friendship we had at Marquette University and the times after that when I saw him on my Wisconsin trips. I'll always remember you, my friend.
I had the pleasure of knowing Matthew for just a short time through my job. We always loved when he came in for his appointments. He always put a smile on our faces. We will definitely miss his company!
He was my favorite teacher at Menasha High, World history. He always drew out battles with stick people. Class of 1973
He was one of my favorite teachers he loved what he did and actually cared about each and every student he taught lost one of the good ones my condolences to his family
Thank you for making English class one we couldn’t wait to get to. You will be greatly missed and warmly remembered.
Mr Kurtz was so quick to make us laugh, we laughed so much we didnt realize how much we learned that year. It wasnt all about the brain floss.
Rest In Peace Mr. Kurtz you were a great teacher that taught me to appreciate poetry. You recited The Tell-Tale Heart and I was hooked.
Neil was a loving, quietly sweet man. He was an inspiration to his students with high expectations! He also painted Ukraine eggs as another hobby. He will be remembered for his unconditional love for animals—and rescued many.
He will be missed by all of us who taught with him.
What a kind wonderful man. On his daily walk past my mother's house, he always had time to chat with her. She so looked forward to his visits. Thank you, Neil. May you rest in peace.
