Ronald Christensen, died on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident on June 11, 2019. He was 81 years old. He was born on May 29, 1938, in Britt, Iowa a son of the late Martin and Meta (Brass) Christensen. He married Elaine Stohr on December 16, 1961. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2000.

Ron served four years in the United States Navy as a Communications Specialist.

Ron was employed by Palo Alto County Hospital starting in maintenance, then was volunteer EMT but continued on to be a paramedic until his retirement.

Following his retirement he spent his summers in Deerbrook and winters in Mesa, Arizona.

Ron loved to play golf. He enjoyed reading, playing cards and playing baseball in his younger years. He was a handyman and enjoyed doing carpentry work.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristi (Ron) Pegarsch of Wisconsin; a son, Kevin (friend Dina) Christensen of Iowa; six grandchildren, Kyle (friend Courtney) Pegarsch and Travis (Kala) Pegarsch of Wisconsin, Shawn (friend Mary) Christensen, Kellie Christensen, Chad (fiancé Theresa) Christensen and Brooke (Cordale) Wallace all of Arizona; six great-grandchild; a friend, Raynine Mitchell of Washington; a brother, Jerry (Arlene) Christensen of Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Thelma (Rusty) Meyering and Sharon Uken both of Iowa; and daughter-in-law, Shelia Lindstrom of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elaine.

A funeral service will be held in Emmetsburg, Iowa on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday, July 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmesburg, Iowa.
