Robert Hoyt, of Antigo, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 82 years old. He was born on November 13, 1936, in Newington, New Hampshire a son of Benjamin and Mitilda (Bell) Hoyt. He married Eleanor Berdan on July 19, 1958, in Straham, New Hampshire. She survives.
He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1957 having been stationed in France.
He moved to Antigo in July of 1973 and was employed at the Langlade County Highway Department from 1973 until retirement in 1998.
Survivors including his wife are three daughters, Kaye (David) Brigette, Florida, Sheila Hoyt, Antigo, Theresa (Adrian) Tomlin, Post Lake; son, Robert Jr. (Jeanne) Hoyt, Scandinavia; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Hoyt, Newington, New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home.

Bob always made sure to stop in and give a candy. He was so funny and told people what he thought without surger coating it. I will miss him.
Bob was a wonderful man that new how to get me to smile even when I was having a bad day. I looked forward in hearing his humming or whistling as he came walking down the isles at Walmart to greet me, as well as my many other coworks, many times a week. I liked hearing his stories and seeing the smile he got by just offering a simple piece of candy to eveyone he met. I will miss him dearly!
