Sylvia Babe McMahon, of Deerbrook, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 84 years old. She was born May 2, 1924 in Cook Co, IL to Walter and Emma (Masek) Stoewsand and she married Richard J. McMahon on October 10, 1942 in Chicago, IL. He survives.
Mrs. McMahon worked for the United States Treasury Department, War Bond Division, in Chicago during WWII. She also worked for a department store as a cashier in the Credit Office. She was a summer resident of Neva for many years and moved there in 2007. She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include her husband Dick, a daughter Patricia (Ross) Giordano, Hoffman Estates, IL, a son, Richard (Jean) McMahon III, Downers Grove, IL., eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Dennis in 2004, a sister Adeline Seidl, a brother Fred Stoewsand.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
