Joan Adamski, of Antigo, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at home under the care of her daughters and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 89 years old. She was born March 27, 1919 in Antigo to Joseph and Anna (Maniecki) Galarowicz. She married John Adamski on January 5, 1944 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1969.

A lifelong Antigo resident she graduated from Antigo High School and was a longtime member of St. Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Arlene (Carrol) Dickman, Antigo, Corrine (John) Thomas, Antigo, one grandson, Curtis (Pam) Dickman, Wausau, one granddaughter, Abby Bretl, Antigo, two brothers, Floyd (Evelyn) Galarowicz, Antigo, Donald (Debbie) Galarowicz, Colorado Springs, CO, three sisters in law, Juliet Galarowicz, Antigo, Stacia Galarowicz, Madison, Erna Adamski, Markesan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers John, Howard, Alois, two sisters Cecelia Pesl, Lucille Parks.

Services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
