Betsy L. Des Jarlais, of Elcho died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 79 years old

She was born May 21, 1929 in Oshkosh the daughter of the late Earl and Sarah (Cleveland) Glines.
She married Leon Des Jarlais on November 27, 1946 at Enterprise, WI He survives.

She was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational, Elcho, and was a girl scout leader for many years .Born in Oshkosh, she moved to the Elcho area as a young girl. Following her marriage, she lived in Elcho.
She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, sewing and her flower garden. .

Surviving are her husband, Leon Des Jarlais and daughter, Kathryn (Ken Kincaid) Oldenburg Deerbrook; 3 sons, John (Patricia) Des Jarlais Elcho, Peter (Kim Fountain) Des Jarlais Belleview, NB, Paul ( Justine Behm ) Des Jarlais Elcho; sister, Billie Behrent Great Falls, MT; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, a daughter Karyn Des Jarlais, a granddaughter Denise Sharrard, a great grandson Stephen Sharrard, two brothers Walter and Earl Glines, three sisters Edith Jenkins, Jean Strange, Pearl Glines and a son-in-law David Oldenburg.

Funeral services will be held at the United Church of Christ Congregational, Elcho at 10am Saturday November 8, 2008 with Rev. Jack LaMar officiating.

Interment will follow in the Elcho Cemetery, Elcho, WI.

Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7 pm Friday at Bradley Funeral Home and Saturday from 9am to time of services at the church.
