Alice Bunten, of Antigo, died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 95 years old. She was born May 26, 1913 in Elton to the late Alonzo and Victoria (Shadick) Bunten.
She graduated from Antigo High School in 1929 and Langlade County Normal School in 1930.
She worked as a clerk at Mathison Grocery. Miss Bunten taught in rural Langlade County Schools for five years and was a third and fourth grade teacher at St. John Parochial School for 17 years.
Survivors include nieces and nephews including Reginald (Marilyn) Bunten of Antigo, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Marion Ritenour and Evelyn Bunten, two brothers Jim and Jack Bunten.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann, officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
