William Bernard Bill Dahlke of Antigo died Friday, August 29, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was 90 years old.
He was born July 27, 1918 in the town of Antigo, WI to the late Louis and Lillian (Now) Dahlke. He was married to the late Anne Sporina who preceded him in death.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church for many years. He attended Franklin Grade School, worked as was a logger, and served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 at the rank of Tech-5. He served in the South Pacific in the Philippine Islands and Solomon Islands. In addition to a Good Conduct Medal, he received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal. Following his military service he farmed with his brothers and later owned and operated his own dairy farm. For 11 years he was employed by the Langlade County Highway Department. He enjoyed rock collecting in the Midwest with his wife. He also collected old pickup trucks.

Survivors include his stepson, Kenneth Biagioni Antigo; 4 brothers, Benjamin Dahlke Antigo, Ernest (Betty) Dahlke Saratoga, NY, Arthur (Eleanor) Dahlke Antigo, Harvey (Nobuko) Dahlke Clarksville, Tenn.; 2 stepgrandchildren, Lori Biagioni Pulaski, Dennis (Mary) Biagioni Antigo; and many nieces and nephews including Jack (Linda) and Don (Beverly) Sporina who were raised by Anne and Bill. He was also survived by his beloved cat Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Norma (John) Jagla, three brothers: Arnold, John, Herbert Dahlke, stepdaughter-in-law Elnor Biagioni.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 10:00am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Polar with Rev. Donald Engebretson officiating. Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery . Visitation will be Thursday, September 4 from 3:30 to 7pm at Bradley Funeral Home and at church from 9am to 10am.
