Robert Slattery, 64 of Bryant, WI, died Sunday, November 18, 2007 while deer hunting on his land in the Township of Stella in Oneida County.

He was born Thursday, February 18, 1943 in Appleton, WI, Son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Wood) Slattery


He married Bonnie Grimm on August 28, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers, WI. She survives.
In 1961 he graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. He received his B.S. in Agromony at UW Madison, M.S. in Botony at University of Illinois,Champagin/Urbana, IL and his PhD in Plant Pathology and Horticulture at University of Minnesota, St. Paul, MN .

He was employed by the State of Wisconsin as Director of the Potato Certified Seed Program in Langlade County for seven years. He was Director of Wisconsin Operations for Frito Lay, Inc. prior to his work as a consultant for Heartland Farms in Handcock, WI. He retired in 2006. Within the potato industry, he served on many boards and committees.

He was a member of St. John Cathilic Church, Antigo, where he was a member of the Finance Council and volunteered for many church activities.
He is a member of Msgr Saile Council 1002, Knights of Columbus, Antigo,
Since 1993 he has served as Chairman of the Township of Price, Langlade County.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go fishing on Lake Michigan with his many friends. He enjoyed carving wood decoys and playing cards with his buddies.

Daughter, Kathleen (Russell) Dahlke Edgar, WI;
2 Granddaughters, Ireland Slattery, Meygan Dahlke;
Grandson, Anders Slattery;
Brother, Michael (Dee Ann) Slattery Rockford, IL;
Sister, Karen (Jim) Steffen Manitowoc, WI;
Mother-in-Law, Anna Grimm Two Rivers, WI;
Brother-in-law, Thomas Grimm Two Rivers, WI.

He was preceded in death by Parents, brother Mark Slattery, Father-in-law Norbert Grimm

Services will be held at St. John Catholic Church,Antigo Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 12;00 pm with Rev. Charles Hoffmann, , officiating.

Interment will be held later in the Holy Cross - Forestview Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 21, 2007 from 9am to 12:00 pm at St. John Catholic Church.
