Rosemary I. Koeppel

Rosemary Koeppel, age 82, of Phlox, WI was taken to heaven by her beloved husband, Martin, and daughters Anne and Franny on Friday evening. She was tended in her last days at home cared for, and surrounded by, her beloved children with the guiding hands of LeRoyer Hospice.

Rosemary was born in Mattoon,WI on February 8, 1925 to Alfred and Ruth (Feigley).Resch. She married Martin Koeppel on September 16, 1944 and lost him to death on August 24, 2001. Her 2 daughters, Anne (James) Braun Antigo, and Frances Koeppel and a granddaughter Shelby Casper were waiting for her in heaven.

Rosemary lived her entire life in the Phlox and Mattoon area. She was a gentle, reserved woman that believed in the goodness of everyone. Her gift of music and song was used for guitar masses, weddings, funerals and special occasions. Her family and her faith were her great blessings. Rosemary was the one to come to if your heart ached and needed comfort. Her arms were always ready with a hug. Her flowers gave her and others great joy.

Rosemary is survived by 13 of her 15 children: Patricia (Ralph) Metko; Appleton, Theresa C. (Dan) Debroux; Phlox, Vicky (Jerome) Marx; Phlox, Jo (Bob) Lomprey; Polar, Ruth (Timmon) Tveten; Phlox, Lucy (Trinidad) Cuellar; Antigo, Martin (Patty) Koeppel; Antigo, Albert (Ann Day) Koeppel; Barnesville GA, Stella (James) Goedderz; Boca Raton FL , Tina Fronczak; Appleton, Jane (Gene Waldvogel) Koeppel; Appleton, Agnes ( Steven) McCrory; Appleton, Eric (Lisa) Koeppel; Neenah; son-in-law James Braun, Antigo; 36 grandchildren and 35 great grand children. Her surviving siblings are; Wilfred (Gretchen) Resch, Aniwa, June (Guy) Hutchins, Hubertus, Margaret Korbisch, Aniwa, Sister Ruth Resch Dominican Republic, and Joan Resch, Antigo and in-laws Oscar Koeppel; Phlox, Theresa (Floyd) Welch: Phlox, Joseph (Shirley) Koeppel; Antigo and Vernon (Elaine) Koeppel; South Milwaukee

The funeral services were held on Monday, April 30, 2007 at St. Joseph Holy Family in Phlox with Rev. David Kiefer and Deacon Tom Hartman officiating. Burial followed the 11:00 a.m. mass in the church cemetery. A visitation was held on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the Bradley Funeral Home, Antigo from 3:30 p.m. through 8 p.m. with a wake service at 7:00 pm and on Monday from 10 am until the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be directed to the Council of Catholic Women, in Phlox, for the Dominican Republic mission of Sister Ruth Resch.

Her son Marty writes the following in memory of Rosemary's philosophy of life:

To my daughters and sons in-law I love you all; I love you all the best.
My grandsons and granddaughters, I love you all, I love you all the best.
My great grandchildren I love you all, I love you all the best.
My sisters and my brothers, I love you all, I love you all the best.
My friends and my neighbors, I love you all, I love you all the best.
Oh yes, I can love you all, and love you all the best because I am your Mother, and your sister and your friend.
