Sigmund "Sig" Chmielewski, age 90, of Deerbrook died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Langlade Memorial Hospital in the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was born January 30, 1917 in Milwaukee to the late John and Maryann (Halminak) Chmielewski. His first wife Irene preceded him in death. In 1981 he married the former Ann Burr in Chicago. She preceded him in death June 9, 1995.
He was employed in the Chicago area for many years as a mason. He retired as head engineer from the Prospect Heights School District, Prospect Heights, Ill. In 1982 he moved to the Deerbrook area. He enjoyed fishing.
He was a member of Sparks-Doernenburg American Legion Post #3, Antigo
He served as a S/SGT in the Army Air Corps during WWll.

Survivors include a sister Martha Chmielewski of Antigo, a sister -in-law Anne Chmielewski of West Allis, many nieces and nephews including Robert (Bonnie) Chmielewski of Waukesha and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and three brothers.

Rev Omer Kelley will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home
Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors Thursday at the funeral home
