Catherine Sargent life long Antigo resident died Monday February 26, 2007 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center, at the age of 94. Born on November 8, 1912 in Antigo to Fred and Katie (Gavin) Sargent she graduated from Antigo High School in 1927 and from Northland College in Ashland, WI in 1931. After college she worked for the Antigo Public Library for seven years. Catherine was employed for the Federal Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service in Antigo for thirty one years retiring on June 30, 1973. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, its Christian Mothers and Altar Society. She volunteered for Association for Retarded Citizens four years, working with the developmentally disabled.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and belonged to several card clubs, played scrabble and cribbage.

She is survived by several cousins and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 28, 2007 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the All Saints Catholic School H.O.S.T. program.
