Mildred C. Almen longtime Elcho resident died Tuesday February 20, 2007 at Langlade Memorial Hospital she was 94. Born to George and Phoebe Clark on February 14, 1913 in Case County, Illinois. She married Oscar "Roy" Almen on September 7, 1930 in Winona, Minnesota he preceded her in death on June 15, 1999.

Mildred and her husband lived in Elcho for 33 years and moved to Antigo in 1998. She was a fifty year member of the Order of Eastern Star and Past Matron of Jewel Chapter. Volunteer at Langlade Memorial Hospital and helper at Quilts Because. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ Antigo.

She is survived by her daughter Beth and Bill Kelly. Eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Granddaughter Christine and Ron Rogillio and their children Derek, Brendan and Ashley. Grandson Charles and Jean Kelly and his sons Jason Charles, Patrick and Adam. Grandson Clark and Lori Kelly and children Travis and Chelsea. Granddaughter Marie and Mark Johnson and son Kyle. Granddaughter Janet and Kevin Boniface and daughter Jordan. Grandson John and Laurie Kramer and children Joey, Rae Ann, and Kendra. Granddaughter Karen and Ed Oliver and sons Timmy and Brady. Grandson Cavan and Diane Kelly and sons William Ryan, and Padraic.
One Brother Bill and Ethel Clark, and a half sister Harriet.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Roy. Her youngest daughter Ruth Kramer in 1976. Two brothers and two sisters.

Mildred's body is being donated to the University of Wisconsin Medical School Anatomy Department as per Mildred's wish.

Memorial services will be held on Friday February 23, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at Faith United Church of Christ Antigo with Rev. Audrey Alexander officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for the Faith United Food Pantry, c/o Faith United Church of Christ 628 Clermont Street Antigo WI 54409.
