Shirley Boudry, of Antigo, died Saturday, December 23, 2017, at home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 87 years old. She was born on August 26, 1930, in Stevens Point, a daughter of Rex and Mae (Rassbach) Jacobson. She married John Boudry on June 6, 1956, at Amherst. He survives.
She was a graduate of Stevens Point High School and attended Stevens Point College where she received Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science degrees.
She taught in Amherst for several years before moving to Antigo in 1957 where she taught Physical Education for the Unified School District of Antigo until retirement in 1987. During her tenure in Antigo she started the girls' volleyball program.
Her hobbies included needle work, quilting, crafting, her basket making group and the Red Hat group.
Shirley was an active member of Antigo United Methodist Church, the National Education Association, Wisconsin Education Association, Retired Educators Association and the Retired Teachers Association and volunteered at AVAIL. She also taught swimming to the cognitively impaired.
Survivors including her husband are three daughters, Valerie (Jeff) Palarski, Wausau, Mary Russell and Steve Boehm, West Bend, Michelle Powers, Appleton; six grandchildren John and William Palarski, Charlie and Lainey Russell, Brittany and Erin Powers; two step-grandchildren, Kayla and Amanda Boehm; a sister-in-law, Lenora Jacobson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Jon Russell; a sister, Val (Don) Stieber, three brothers Charles (Louise) Jacobson, Donald Jacobson, Frank (Betty) Jacobson.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Debbie Pimm officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear about shirley. She taught me all I know about basket Making and made it fun. She was such a great person. We had so many great times in the winters we spent in pcb. I know she and Joe are having some laughs. Everyone has a lot of good memories. Bless you all. Tootie
