Ferryle Nelson, of Antigo, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 97 years old. She was born on September 1, 1917 in Elton, a daughter of Hyram and Jestin (Phipps) Rice. She married Walter Nelson in 1940 in Antigo. He preceded her in death in 1982.

She was raised in Elton, lived in Ohio before moving to Cudahy. Ferryle was employed at a knitting mill in Milwaukee. She returned to Antigo in 1996.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Vicki Dobratz (nee Boyd), Antigo, Katherine Boyd, Maricopa, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Marilyn Boyd, a son, Richard Nelson; two brothers, Edward and Forest Rice; three sisters, Lois Jent, Beatrice Gavigan, Goldie Rice.

Graveside services will be held Thursday April 30, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

The Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
