Mildred Beattie, of Antigo, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Evergreen Terrace. She was 93 years old. She was born in Forestville, WI a daughter of Martin and Catherine (Gerlach) Schmitz. She married Donald Beattie on November 19, 1949 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1996.

In 1943 she graduated from Marquette College of Nursing in Milwaukee. She was engaged in the nursing field for 30 years. Mrs. Beattie retired in 1981 and moved to Antigo.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the Sparks-Doernenburg American Legion Post #3-Auxiliary both in Antigo.

Survivors include a step son, Thomas (Marlene) Beattie; a sister, Marion Mueller; three step-grandchildren Tom (Darlene) Beattie, Patti (Tyler) Fellows, Debbi (Steve) Hoff;
six step-great-grandchildren Cooper, Zalaire, Brandon, Bryce, Ben and Ruby.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Karen Tews officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
