Jeanne and family, I am so sorry to hear of Harry's passing and I am so sorry for your loss of him in your lives. Harry was one of the best friends anyone could have. He was one of my best friends in high school! He was kind, always had a smile and fun to be around. I haven't had much contact with Harry since high school, but always had the fond memories of our friendship. I'm sure he will be missed by many!

To Jeanne and Harry's entire Family,

Memories and thoughts of Harry have been at the forefront of my mind since I heard about his passing. Harry has always been a part of my life since Harry and I were first cousins born just 3 months a part. That somehow gave us a special bond since the older kids generally did not want much to do with us when we were together. Harry always made sure we were okay.

I have always cherished memories of the Thomas Family Reunions. One in particular stands out above the others. It was held in Phlox at Aunt Germaine and Uncle Norb's farm. Aunt Germaine would spend most of the day making her special doughnuts and serve them hot dipped in sugar. I can still see her in her apron, smiling at all of the kids clamoring to see who could get the first doughnuts! We all stood around waiting. Once we had our fill, we would run off and play, in the barn and chasing each other in the yard. Just having fun, being kids and enjoying each other.

In our teenage years, my brother, Dan, sister, Terry and I spent some time at Harry's house. I have a fun memory of riding in the back of a pick up truck to one of the Schmidt cousins' home to swim in the creek. It was great fun, especially since riding in the back of a truck was not allowed in our town! It felt downright wrong. Harry was fun to be around!

Harry was proud of his farm heritage. When we were little kids, he would show me the pigs, piglets and the calves. We would walk out into the pasture stepping in cow pies on our way out to look at the cows...and we would laugh!

Several years ago, Harry and Jeanne hosted a family reunion at their beautiful farm. When hearing about Harry's passing, my children remembered the day, especially the hay ride we all had around the beautiful farm and home that Harry, Jeanne and their girls built together. It was a very fun day with great food and so much conversation it hurt ones' ears! There was never enough time together to catch up on each other's lives.

I cannot imagine the loss you all feel, because I too feel Harry's loss and I am beyond sad. Our family has lost a very special person, and he will be missed in ways no one understands yet. The family will never be the same.

My thoughts and prayers will remain with all of you in hopes that God's presence, good friends and family will help you through this difficult time.

I remember the first time at work that I raided his lunch pail. Jeanne had made apple crisp and I sat down and ate it on him. When he found out he called me an ---hole, but from that day forward, every time Jeanne made that desert, he always brought me a piece. I am blessed that I could call him one of my friends. To Jeanne and his girls, who he was so proud of,my thoughts and prayers are with you.He was a man that never will be forgotten for his ability to always make you smile and laugh.
